Joint Venture Lead Auditor

AMS-PAR is adding experienced joint venture lead auditors to our audit team.

The joint venture lead auditors will be responsible for:

• Interpreting complex Joint Operating Agreements and other operational agreements.
• Planning and executing audits of onshore and offshore joint ventures.
• Directing, coaching, and reviewing the work of team members.
• Participating as an individual contributor.
• Managing project budgets.
• Effectively communicating results and corrective actions verbally and in written form throughout the engagement.

• Joint venture lead auditor experience, including of multi-person audit teams.
• Proven expertise in oil and gas accounting and joint venture auditing (e.g., capital and overhead reconciliations, drilling operations, payroll, and complex boat, helicopter, and other cost allocations).
• Onshore and Offshore experience required, including exposure to production handling agreements.
• International experience a plus.
• Critical and strategic thinker.
• Strong analytical skills.
• Organized and able to maintain well-documented work papers.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple engagements.
• Self-directed and ability to work independently.
• Thrives in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
• Able to effectively work in a virtual environment.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Conversant with COPAS documents.
• Willingness to mentor staff.

• Bachelor’s degree (accounting and mathematics preferred).
• Minimum 5 years of direct subject matter experience.
• Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft applications and larger ERP systems (e.g., Oracle, SAP).
• Multi-lingual a plus.

• Houston based preferred, but office virtually.
• Less than 10%, some international travel is possible.
