Base Pay Range$65.00/hr – $75.00/hr
OverviewThe Senior Construction Representative will manage the quality of the construction of an Army Reserve Center located at the Albany Marine Corps Base. The project work includes a vehicle maintenance shop and supporting facilities. Additional work may include an unheated storage building, bi-level loading ramp, wash rack, and an aggregated MEP area. The buildings will be permanent construction with reinforced concrete foundations, concrete floor slabs, reinforced concrete or masonry walls, low-slope or sloped roof, HVAC, plumbing, mechanical, security and electrical systems.
Responsibilities- Provide QA field representative services over the course of assignment(s), including reviewing the contractor’s Quality Control Plan, Safety Plan, Schedule of Prices, Progress Schedules, and Network Analysis Diagrams;
Environmental Protection Plan;
Asbestos Plan; and submittal register for conformance with contract requirements and good practice. - Prepare written reports and recommendations to the client for acceptance or non-acceptance; keep detailed records of preconstruction conferences, quality control coordination meetings, and other meetings with contractors and the client.
- Review daily quality control reports, perform surveillance to ensure compliance with the USACE 3‑phase quality control system, and submit daily Quality Assurance Reports within 24 hours of inspection.
- Verify site location, layout, elevations, QC requirements, and required quality control tests prior to start of work.
- Monitor construction contractor’s procedures for tracking construction deficiencies; maintain audit trail and field problem tracking; submit findings on the daily QAR.
- Minimum 7 years’ experience.
- Experience with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Construction Quality Management process.
- Specialized skills or codes (may be required):
Life Safety Code (NFPA 101);
National Electric Code (NFPA 70);
Plumbing (IPC);
Fire Protection Systems (NFPA 13 & 72); HVAC/TAB (ASHRAE/AABC/NEBB);
Building Commissioning;
Communications & Security (IT, Nurse Call/Code Blue, Imaging & IDS/PACS);
Transport/Equipment (Patient Lifts, Elevators, Transport Systems, Pneumatic Tube, Food Service, Sterilizers, Mortuary, & Laboratory);
Welding Inspection;
Painting and Metalizing Inspection;
Environmental HAZWOPER, site sampling.
