7 on 7 off Schedule
Position Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Internal Medicine Hospitalist Physician to join our dynamic healthcare team either in a LOCUM or permanent employed capacity.
The Hospitalist will provide comprehensive care for patients admitted to our 200 bed non profit facility, overseeing their treatment plans from admission to discharge. This position offers a unique 7 on 7 off schedule, providing an excellent work-life balance.
Responsibilities:
1. Patient Care:
Provide high-quality, evidence-based medical care for adult patients admitted to the hospital.
2. Admissions:
Evaluate and admit patients from the emergency department or referrals from other healthcare providers.
3. Rounding:
Conduct daily rounds on assigned patients, assessing their condition, interpreting diagnostic tests, and adjusting treatment plans as necessary.
4.
Collaboration:
Work closely with specialists, nurses, case managers, and other healthcare professionals to coordinate patient care and ensure continuity of treatment.
5. Consultations:
Provide consultations to other medical services within the hospital as requested.
6. Documentation:
Maintain accurate and timely electronic medical records, including admission notes, progress notes, and discharge summaries.
7. Patient
Education:
Communicate effectively with patients and their families, providing education about their conditions, treatment options, and discharge instructions.
8. Quality Improvement:
Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient outcomes, safety, and satisfaction.
9. Professional Development:
Stay current with advances in internal medicine and hospitalist practice through continuing medical education and participation in relevant conferences or workshops.
10. Teaching:
May have opportunities to mentor medical students, residents, or other healthcare professionals.
Qualifications:
- Medical degree (MD or DO) from an accredited institution.
- Board certification or eligibility in Internal Medicine.
- Completion of residency training in Internal Medicine.
- Active, unrestricted medical license in State .
- DEA registration.
- Excellent clinical skills and ability to manage complex medical cases.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
- Commitment to providing compassionate and patient-centered care.
- Experience working as a hospitalist preferred, but new graduates are welcome to apply.
