Job Summary

The Department of Mathematics, Computer Science, and Physics seeks a dynamic and innovative Part-time instructor of Mathematics to join our adjunct team. This role involves effective teaching, student mentorship, and service to the department and the university. The successful candidate must demonstrate excellence in teaching and a commitment to integrating new technologies in the learning process and the ability to inspire, motivate, and empower students to succeed.

This role also includes responding to academic early alerts, suggesting opportunities for study abroad, internships, and research opportunities. Sponsorship is not available for this position.

Responsibilities

• Teach both introductory and advanced level courses, in a face-to-face or online format.
• Utilize diverse teaching techniques to foster active learning.
• Lead and moderate classroom discussions.
• Administer and grade examinations and other coursework.
• Advising and mentoring students.

Required Qualifications

• Master's Degree or eighteen (18) graduate credit hours in mathematics.
• At least two (2) years of applicable teaching experience at the collegiate level.

Preferred Qualifications

Master's Degree in mathematics.

Proposed Salary

Salary is based on a per credit hour rate.

Conditions of Employment

All selected candidates are required to successfully pass a Background Check review prior to starting with Albany State University.
