Job SummaryAn Assistant Professor of Forensic Sciences is sought to teach undergraduate and graduate courses in various aspects of forensic science, including crime scene investigation, forensic biology, chemistry, and toxicology, while actively conducting research in their area of expertise, publishing findings in peer-reviewed journals, and mentoring student researchers, contributing to the development and maintenance of a robust forensic science program within the university

Responsibilities Teaching- Deliver undergraduate and graduate level courses in forensic science disciplines like crime scene investigation, forensic biology, forensic chemistry, and advanced topics related to their area of expertise.
- Develop and implement new course curriculum to keep pace with advancements in forensic science.
- Design and oversee laboratory exercises for hands‑on learning in forensic techniques.
- Provide effective instruction and assessment of student learning.
- Conduct independent research in their area of forensic science specialization, securing external funding through grant proposals.
- Publish research findings in peer-reviewed journals and present at relevant scientific conferences.
- Involve undergraduate and graduate students in research projects to foster their academic development.
- Participate in departmental, college, and university committees
- Advise undergraduate and graduate students on academic and career paths
- Collaborate with local law enforcement agencies and forensic laboratories to provide professional development opportunities
- Engage in outreach activities to promote public understanding of forensic science
Master's degree in Biology, Chemistry, or Forensic Science or a closely related field with a strong foundation in relevant scientific disciplines.
Demonstrated teaching experience at the undergraduate and/or graduate level
Active research program with a record of peer‑reviewed publications
Expertise in specific forensic science techniques such as DNA analysis, trace evidence analysis, toxicology, or digital forensics
Preferred QualificationsPh.D. in Biology, Chemistry or Forensic Science or a closely related field with a strong foundation in relevant scientific disciplines
