Our West Campus is located at 2400 Gillionville Road, Albany, GA 31707. Our East Campus is located at 504 College Drive, Albany, GA 31705. The Human Resources office for both campuses is located on the West Campus in Building K, Suite 111.

Job Summary

The department of Mathematics, Computer Science, and Physics seeks a dynamic and innovative Assistant Professor of Computer Science-Cybersecurity to join our team. This role involves effective teaching, research, student mentorship, service to the department and the university, and engagement with the community.

The successful candidate must demonstrate excellence in teaching and have a commitment to integrating new technologies in the learning process and the ability to inspire, motivate, and empower the students to succeed. The individual who will fill this position will teach undergraduate courses with an average teaching load of fifteen (15) credit hours per semester.

Responsibilities
  • Teach both introductory and advanced level courses, in a face‑to‑face and online format, as well as assist in the development of curriculum.
  • Utilize diverse teaching techniques to foster active learning.
  • Lead and moderate classroom discussions.
  • Administer and grade examinations and other coursework.
  • Additional responsibilities will include advising and mentoring students as well as participating in campus events.
Required Qualifications
  • Master's Degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, or a closely related field.
  • A strong record of teaching. At least two (2) years of applicable teaching experience at the collegiate level.
Preferred Qualifications
  • PhD in Computer Science, Cybersecurity or a closely related field.

Salary is commensurate with education and experience.

  • An understanding of current trends in the field, best practices, and standards in cybersecurity.

  • Strong teaching skills with the ability to work with a diverse group of students.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Skilled in providing quality feedback on assessments to aid in student learning.
Abilities
  • Ability to mentor and advise students on academic and professional pathways.
  • Ability to adapt to the changes in the field and incorporate them into the learning experience.
  • Ability to connect, collaborate and work effectively with other faculty, staff, and industry partners.
