Job DescriptionTitle: Training Coordinator
Shift: 8 Hour Day Shift (Monday – Friday). Overtime and non traditional shift hours required based on business needs
Job PurposeThe Training Coordinator is accountable for the development, execution and tracking of the training program for functional roles, and taking ownership for the application, execution, and development of site associates for MARS MSE Education & Training Programs and processes. The Training Coordinator collaborates on the overall training program, develops training materials, tracks associate participation, manages logistics of delivering training, trains instructors on training methodologies, and occasionally presents training materials to teams and individuals.
This role delivers training sessions as required to end users, “OJT Trainer”, “Expert Trainer”, and “TCA (Teach, Coach & Assess)” sessions. The Training Coordinator provides program feedback and suggestions to site management to continuously improve overall program effectiveness.
- Develop and maintain training records for all associates by Value Stream and site-wide.
- Develop training materials such as videos, presentations, SOPs, pamphlets, e-learnings targeting specific skills as defined by the training program.
- Work with external vendors to provide specific technical training to site associates.
- Serve as a presenter of training materials, including nights and weekends as needed.
- Provide “OJT Trainer” sessions to production & maintenance associates, coordinators & leaders to enable them to deliver training modules within their teams.
- Recommend training courses for areas with performance issues based on FMOS process, direct observation on the production floor, and partnership with staff, production leaders, production coordinators, and technical leaders.
- Schedule and coordinate individual and team training sessions.
- Continuously seek and support new approaches, practices and processes to improve the efficiency of training services offered.
- Amend and revise programs as necessary to adapt to changes in the work environment.
- Work closely with CVS to develop training requirements for new projects/processes.
- Lead operation and maintenance SME’s through the process to develop training materials and programs based on task analysis processes.
- Help production leaders (line managers) to solve specific training needs/problems, either one-on-one or in a group.
- Develop & deliver training schedules for capability building needs within each Value Stream.
- Ensure all associates are aware of training dates/times/locations.
- Provide performance feedback to the Training & Development Leaders for ratings purposes as it relates to certification levels, training completions, and overall engagement in the training program of associates.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- 3+ years of experience in developing and delivering training as part of a manufacturing team or as a production supervisor (or equivalent experience).
- Associate’s Degree or higher in Human Resources, Education, Business Management, basic sciences or other business-related disciplines (or equivalent functional technical training experience).
- 5+ years of experience in developing and delivering training as part of a manufacturing team or as a production supervisor (or equivalent experience).
- Familiarity with traditional and modern training methods (mentoring, coaching, on-the-job or in classroom training, e-learning, workshops, simulations, etc).
- Proven ability to develop training materials from scratch and fully implement.
- Frequent lifting/carrying pushing (10-50 lbs) and pulling (50-300 lbs).
- Frequent bending, stooping, twisting, handling and gripping.
- Ability to work at elevated heights, climb stairs, lean over equipment and work in confined spaces.
- Ability to stand and/or work on feet for extended periods (minimum eight hours in one shift).
- Ability to read, write and speak English.
