Job Summary

Entry‑level banking role to build proficiency in transaction, sales and service functions. Operates as a multi‑functional team member. On average, spends 80% of time performing transactional and service functions and 20% performing sales and relationship deepening functions.

Job Duties and Responsibilities
  • Proactively greet customers and establish rapport.
  • Assess customer needs, share digital strategy and direct to appropriate service areas.
  • Execute customer transactions in accordance with policies and procedures, maximizing sales potential.
  • Count, check and package coins and currency; balance cash drawer and report discrepancies.
  • Promote Synovus products such as consumer and mortgage loans, IRAs, CD, travelers check and credit cards.
  • Refer customer to branch team members and/or Synovus partners for cross‑selling opportunities.
  • Participate in daily huddle activities, weekly sales meetings and training activities.
  • Adhere to Branch Operations Standards, policies, and regulatory guidelines to protect against risk.
  • Maintain professionalism in appearance, punctuality and behavior.
  • Perform other related duties as required.
Minimum Education
  • High school diploma or equivalent
Minimum Experience
  • Six (6) months of customer service, sales or other related work experience or completion of one year of college/vocational school in lieu of work experience.
Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Knowledge of bank operations, policies and procedures and federal bank regulations
  • Knowledge of bank products and services
  • Strong customer service skills
  • Aptitude for consultative selling
  • Strong listening and comprehension skills to identify customer financial needs, goals and objectives
  • Strong interpersonal skills to establish rapport with customers
  • Careful attention to detail with ability to manage time and multi‑task
  • Mathematical skills
  • Proficiency using Microsoft Office software products
Preferred Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Experience with cash handling is preferred.
  • Knowledge of bank operations, policies and procedures and federal bank regulations
  • Knowledge of bank products, services, policies and procedures
