ExperienceRequired
- Bachelor’s degree or certificate in Agronomy, Turfgrass Management, Horticulture, or related field preferred.
- Minimum 3‑5 years of progressive experience as an Assistant Superintendent or Superintendent; prior leadership role strongly preferred.
- Strong knowledge of warm‑season turfgrasses (Bermuda, Zoysia, etc.), pest control, fertilization, irrigation systems, and regional climate challenges.
- Proven success in budgeting, staff management, and delivering exceptional playing conditions.
- GCSAA membership in good standing (Class A or working towards).
- Excellent communication, organizational, and leadership skills.
- Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced environment and adapt to the evolving needs of the club.
- Direct and oversee all aspects of golf course maintenance, agronomy, and grounds operations.
- Develop and implement maintenance programs for greens, fairways, tees, bunkers, rough, practice facilities, and common grounds.
- Manage irrigation systems and ensure optimal turf health, water management, and environmental stewardship.
- Prepare annual agronomy plans and operating budgets; monitor expenses and report regularly to ownership/management.
- Recruit, train, and lead maintenance staff; foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, and pride.
- Ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations regarding pesticide and fertilizer use.
- Work closely with ownership, golf operations, and food & beverage leadership to deliver a first‑class member and guest experience.
- Play a hands‑on role in daily course preparation, with attention to tournament‑quality standards.
- Lead and oversee long‑term capital projects such as bunker renovations, drainage, and greens improvements.
