Calibration Technician

The Calibration Technician is a subject matter expert in various calibrations technician disciplines, multifunctional and/or inter-related precision measurement equipment, instruments, and instrumentation systems using electrical, electronic, physical, dimensional, and optical standard skill levels. This expertise will support technical assessments and recommended measurement solutions often unique in design or system configuration.
Compensation & Benefits:Estimated Starting Hourly Range for Calibration Technician: $30/hr-$35/hr pay commensurate with experience. Full‑time benefits include Medical, Dental, Vision, 401(k), and other possible benefits as provided. Benefits are subject to change with or without notice.
Calibration TechnicianResponsibilities Include:
- Apply metrology principles to calibrate precision measurement instruments, systems, and standards, including pulse generators, frequency counters, voltmeters, optical time‑domain reflectometers, dimensional measurement devices, and electro‑optic test systems.
- Set up and operate calibration equipment and standards under actual or simulated conditions; use physical dimensional reference standards to ensure traceability.
- Establish appropriate measurement tolerances based on equipment specifications.
- Systematically identify calibration issues, define root causes, and evaluate alternative corrective actions.
- Calculate test uncertainty and test uncertainty ratio (TUR) to confirm suitability of calibration standards; document measurement uncertainty per national and international standards.
- Use computer programming routines to configure and adjust equipment operating parameters.
- Deliver work that meets quality standards and complete assignments within established timelines.
- Troubleshoot and repair new systems during operational testing; refine procedures to address unforeseen defects.
- Operate and maintain equipment safely, following established safety rules and regulations.
- Draft and submit changes to detailed schematics, drawings, and maintenance procedures for approval and use by junior personnel.
- Document software applications and modifications; submit all documentation to the Configuration/Data Management (C/DM) office.
- Test and debug programs to detailed requirements; submit completed application software to the C/DM office.
- Demonstrate comprehensive knowledge of electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and/or hydraulic principles.
- Exercise sound judgment and independence in selecting methods and techniques to resolve complex calibration challenges.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

This position supports Department of Defense (DoD) production and maintenance operations and requires adherence to applicable government, industry, and corporate procedures.
Calibration Technician Experience, Education, Skills, Abilities requested:- High school diploma or GED; or six months of related experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Minimum three years of relevant experience.

- Knowledge of quality inspection methods and proficiency with measuring tools.
