Overview:
Join Phoebe Putney Memorial Hospital’s dedicated team as a Surgical Intensive Care Unit (SICU) nurse. This critical role offers an exciting opportunity to provide high-quality care to surgical patients in a fast-paced environment. Immediate start available, with a contract duration of 17 weeks, allowing you to make a meaningful impact while advancing your nursing career.

Key Responsibilities:

• Monitor and assess surgical patients in the ICU to ensure optimal recovery.
• Administer medications, fluids, and treatment plans as prescribed by physicians.
• Utilize advanced medical equipment to support patient care and stability.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and execute patient care plans.
• Document patient progress accurately and maintain detailed records.
• Respond promptly to emergencies, providing critical interventions when needed.
• Educate patients and families about post-operative care and recovery processes.
• Maintain compliance with hospital policies, safety protocols, and infection control standards.

Qualifications & Requirements:

• Valid and active Licensed Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice.
• At least 2 years of recent ICU or surgical ICU experience.
• Strong proficiency in critical care procedures and use of ICU medical equipment.
• Ability to respond quickly and effectively in high-pressure situations.
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
• Commitment to providing compassionate, patient-centered care.

Preferred Education & Experience:

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or Higher degree preferred.
• Previous experience working in a Level I or Level II trauma center.
• Certification in Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) and Basic Life Support (BLS).

Certifications and Licenses:

• Active RN license in the state of practice (required)
• ACLS certification (required)
• BLS certification (required)
