Journeyman Locksmith
We are seeking a skilled and trustworthy Journeyman Locksmith to perform a wide range of locksmith services, including installation, repair, and maintenance of locks, keys, and security systems. The position requires on-site work during regular government working hours and adherence to strict security and trustworthiness standards.
Supervisory Responsibilities Duties and Responsibilities- Install locks, hardware, and security systems in existing buildings and new construction projects.
- Disassemble and troubleshoot issues with locks and hardware.
- Repair existing locks and hardware as needed.
- Re-key and replace locks and hardware when required.
- Unlock car doors for customers.
- Cut new keys and create duplicate keys.
- Ensure security systems are functioning properly.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Skills and Abilities
- Extensive knowledge of locks, hardware, and security systems.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and building plans.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in using power tools and hand tools.
- Ability to follow instructions accurately and efficiently.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Completion of an accredited master key system/locksmith course by the Associated Locksmiths of America or equivalent.
- Vocational/technical school training and apprenticeship preferred.
- Successful completion of a federal background check required.
- Physically capable of installing and repairing locks and related hardware.
- Ability to stand, walk, and bend for prolonged periods.
- Must be able to lift up to 20 pounds at times.
- Must pass a federal background screening and drug test.
- Must meet trustworthiness determination as specified in SECNAVINST 5510.36A (chapters 10-15).
- Licenses:
If required in the state of Georgia, provide a copy of completed locksmith licenses. - On-site during the Government's regular working hours.
- Completed accredited master key system/locksmith course by the Associated Locksmiths of America or equivalent.
Contractor
Work Hours:
The Government's regular working hours are from , five days per week, Monday through Friday, except observed Federal holidays. Some additional work required beyond
Regular working hours as required to meet contract obligations.
