Southway is looking to add an experienced full-time crane mechanic to our growing branch in Albany, Georgia. You must meet all listed requirements to be considered for this position.

Summary

Southway Crane & Rigging Inc. is seeking a full-time experienced Crane Technician/Mechanic to perform maintenance and repairs on cranes, forklifts, and other equipment. Follow all state and federal laws while operating motor vehicles, and comply with safety and environmental policies.

Responsibilities
  • Supply your own tools with up-to-date inventory; shop has a variety of specialty tools
  • Perform scheduled maintenance on cranes, forklifts, and other equipment
  • Document all maintenance and repairs and file records properly
  • Work with a strong work ethic and commitment to quality
  • Work with minimal supervision
  • Lift up to 40 lbs
  • Pass a drug screen and background check
  • Understand electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic circuits (plus)
  • Work some evenings and weekends at the shop
  • Communicate safety issues to customers and co-workers on location
  • Report to Supervisor and/or Lead Mechanic on completion of tasks
  • Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 3–7 years of experience as a mobile crane mechanic/technician with the ability to inspect cranes to diagnose defects
  • Working knowledge of CANBUS, PAT, ECOS, LICCON systems
  • Ability to read operating, parts manuals, and technical drawings
  • Ability to test mechanical, electronic, electrical, and hydraulic products after repair to ensure proper operation and OEM compliance
  • Ability to work independently without direct supervision
  • Maintain safety requirements for equipment
  • Maintain reports (timesheets, work orders, expense reports, etc.)
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record
  • TWIC card or ability to acquire TWIC card
