HVAC Service Technician at Premi Star
Based out of Albany, GA. This role reports to the Service Manager. The HVAC Service Technician installs and maintains heating, ventilation, air conditioning, and boiler systems, performs tests and analysis to ensure proper functioning, provides recommendations to customers, monitors and troubleshoots equipment and controls for safe operation and lifecycle performance.

- Perform routine repairs to pump seals, bearings, etc.
- Inspect and test systems to verify compliance with plans/specifications or locate malfunctions.
- Determine customer concerns with HVAC and boiler systems.
- Follow standards, policies, procedures, including safety and cleanliness.
- Discuss HVAC malfunctions with customers to isolate problems or verify resolution.
- Record and report faults, deficiencies and other occurrences, including time and materials expended.
- Test pipe, tubing joints or connections for leaks.
- Adjust system controls to manufacturer-recommended settings to balance system.
- Recommend, develop, or perform maintenance procedures such as cleaning, power-washing, vacuuming equipment, lubricating parts, or changing filters.
- Install auxiliary components (expansion/discharge valves, air ducts, pipes, blowers, dampers, flues, stokers) following blueprints.
- Coordinate with repair and maintenance teams for other work assistance.
- Install, connect, and adjust thermostats, humidistats, and timers.
- Generate work orders addressing deficiencies needing correction.
- Connect pipes or tubing to equipment and fuel, water, or refrigerant source to form complete circuit.
- Assemble, position and mount heating or cooling equipment following blueprints.
- Study blueprints, design specifications, and manufacturers' recommendations to ascertain configuration and ensure proper installation.
- Cut or drill holes in floors, walls, or roof to install equipment using power saws or drills.
- Measure, cut, thread, or bend pipe/tubing using pipe fitter tools.
- Fabricate, assemble, or install duct work or chassis parts using portable metal-working tools or welding equipment.
- Other duties as assigned.
- High school diploma or equivalent and 5 years of documentable HVAC level operation, maintenance, and repair experience in HVAC and refrigeration trade.
- Knowledge of HVAC repairs, maintenance, installation techniques, electrical circuits, wiring, motor operating principles, and local electrical codes.
- Effective communication with internal team and customers; follows written/verbal instructions; interprets blueprints, diagrams, schematics, and reference material; performs math and diagnoses/resolves problems.
- Physical ability to operate machinery and equipment including electronic and diagnostic tools, recovery equipment, hand and power tools, and HVAC equipment.
- Ability to stoop, kneel, crouch, climb, crawl, reach, walk, lift, grasp, feel, perform repetitive motions, and move or carry objects or materials.
This position is largely physically active. Field technicians regularly push and pull heavy loads, climb, crouch, and maneuver around obstacles to service HVAC equipment.
Work EnvironmentField environment with wide temperature variations. Must be able to sit or stand for extended periods.
