Diesel Technician/Mechanic III - Entry Level

Ready to accelerate your career while helping customers move forward? As a Technician at Penske, you’ll perform preventative maintenance and minor repairs on the fastest, most well‑maintained fleet of vehicles in the industry. You will keep customers’ vehicles in shape and on the road.
Location:
1218 Liberty Expy, Albany, GA 31705
- Ensure vehicles are maintained and safe for customers
- Use Penske’s tools and technologies to log, research and complete repairs, including basic diagnostics
- Perform preventative maintenance such as tire replacement or rotation, component lubrication and replacement, electrical repairs, and cooling system maintenance on gas and diesel engine vehicles
- Partner with your manager to learn new skills using Penske’s technician training and hands‑on coaching
- Work on other projects and tasks as assigned by supervisor

- High school diploma or equivalent preferred; vocational or technical certification in vehicle repair preferred
- Basic mechanical aptitude and 1–2 years of automotive or diesel repair experience (preferred)
- Valid driver’s license
- Ability to solve problems and use tools comfortably
- Excellent customer service and communication skills
- Team‑player ability, able to work independently when necessary
- Basic computer skills
- Must understand and comply with Penske policies and DOT, OSHA safety regulations
- Full‑time attendance required
- Must maintain current DOT driver qualification file, including annual MVR check, DOT physical, safety performance history checks, and, if CDL holder, DOT drug screening within 30 days of start
- Willingness to work required schedule, location, and possible travel within region for training; must pass background, drug screen, and physical
- Move frequently, stand, walk, climb, bend, and sit for extended periods
- Use hands routinely to grasp, reach, touch, handle, and operate tools or controls
- Work safely at heights using ladders and elevated platforms
- Work in all weather conditions
- See and hear clearly to navigate workplace with large trucks
- Regularly lift and/or move up to 50 lbs (23 kg) and occasionally up to 100 lbs (45 kg)
