Technical training in electrical system installation, repair and maintenance; experience as an electrician in all phases of electrical work; minimum of 5 years of professional electrical experience; knowledge of state/local electrical codes and safety regulations; valid Georgia Driver’s license with a clean driving record. The Superintendent and the Board may consider alternative qualifications.

- Ability to prioritize tasks, meet deadlines, and manage multiple projects across district locations.
- Collaborative communication with facilities staff, administrators, and vendors.
- Courteous, respectful demeanor in a school environment with staff, students, and the public.
- Install, maintain, and repair electrical wiring, lighting, outlets, and related systems in schools and administrative buildings.
- Ensure all work complies with applicable codes, regulations, and safety standards.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot electrical problems using appropriate testing devices.
- Coordinate with maintenance staff and contractors as needed.
- Maintain accurate records of repairs, installations, and inspections.
- Respond to emergency calls and perform preventative maintenance as scheduled.
- Assist in energy efficiency and lighting upgrade projects.
- Perform other duties as needed or assigned by the Supervisor.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, climb, and crouch for extended periods.
- Lift, carry, push, and pull materials weighing up to 50 pounds (occasionally heavier with assistance).
- Comfortable working on ladders, scaffolding, and lifts at varying heights.
- Perform work in tight spaces such as crawl spaces, attics, and electrical closets.
- Use hand and power tools with precision and manual dexterity.
- Visual and auditory ability to safely perform duties, including reading schematics and identifying wire colors.
- Work in a variety of environmental conditions, including hot, cold, dusty, or noisy areas.
- Occasional need to wear PPE such as gloves, safety glasses, hard hats, and respirators.
