Summary Description
The Senior Accountant (Mgmt. Co.) is responsible for coordinating and delegating the overall day-to-day work of their particular clients. This position acts as a “Team Lead” to ensure that the day-to-day work and deadlines are completed as scheduled. Senior Accountant II (Mgmt. Co.) reviews general ledger entries, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, cash entries and accruals. This position reviews and process payroll for multiple companies, prepares/reviews financial statements and supporting packages on a quarterly and monthly basis and works with auditors as needed.
This position will require regular interaction with clients and team members.
The Senior Accountant (Mgmt. Co.) has demonstrated technical skillset mastery, in addition to applying advance accounting concepts and principals on a daily basis. This position serves as a resources to other members of the team, in addition to Management, providing guidance, training and additional support as needed.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Reviews monthly/quarterly manager packages and workbooks which allows for accurate budgeting;
- Monthly/quarterly financial statement review for management and management company team to provide the client with an overall picture of the financial performance of the company;
- Review deal schedules to track expenses that are reimbursable from the portfolio companies and then review related invoices;
- Review monthly cash reconciliations to provide the client with a summary of cash deposits and disbursements;
- Review cash and other necessary journal entries to provide an accurate ledger;
- Review or prepare and maintain various schedules and work papers that support the company’s financial and operational position;
- Review Form 1099 for the company’s vendors for year-end reporting purposes;
- Perform and analyze account reconciliations and general ledger entries;
- Perform monthly closing processes;
- Coordinates and completes special projects as directed by management;
- Continually updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; internal company and team trainings; maintains personal networks; participates in professional development opportunities;
- Works closely with Staff Accountant I and Staff Accountant II (Mgmt. Co.) employees to providing training and guidance as needed and;
- Works closely with coworkers and Management Team to ensure completion of necessary deliverables.

- Demonstrate mastery of technical skillset including use of Excel; in automation of monthly/quarterly workbooks and financial statements;
- Demonstrate mastery of subject matter when advising client on various accounting treatments, questions or concerns;
- Consistent resource for other team members with regard to technical questions or pertaining to questions on various accounting treatments;
- Assist management with ongoing team trainings while providing suggestions or input as to the continued training opportunities needed on both the team and company level;
- Demonstrate mastery in the ability to advise clients on U.S. GAAP principals in addition to “Book-to-Tax” treatments;
- Comprehensive understanding and mastery of the two methods of accounting for cash and accrual accounting;
- Ability to complete advance analysis on agreements provided by the clients, including in the review of promissory notes, proper interest calculations, lease agreements, etc.
- Provide daily leadership across the team and minimal supervisory assistance as needed in the absence of management and;
- Ability to multi-task between different tasks and internal demands throughout the day;
