Accounts Payable Specialist

Description We are looking for an Accounts Payable Specialist to join a team in Latham, New York on a Long-term Contract basis. This position is ideal for someone who is highly organized, detail-focused, and comfortable managing a steady flow of financial transactions while communicating effectively with vendors and internal stakeholders. The role supports day-to-day accounting operations and requires strong follow-through, accuracy, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

- Manage day-to-day accounts payable activities by reviewing, coding, and entering vendor invoices with a high level of accuracy.

- Record financial transactions and maintain organized documentation to support routine accounting operations.

- Prepare and process payment batches, including check runs and ACH transactions, in accordance with established timelines.

- Post daily cash receipts and reconcile banking activity to help ensure complete and accurate financial records.

- Communicate with customers and vendors to address payment questions, resolve discrepancies, and provide timely updates.

- Support inventory-related recordkeeping and assist with audits or reviews to verify accuracy of reported information.

- Perform general accounting support tasks as needed to maintain efficient workflow across finance operations.

- Assist in handling high-volume invoicing while meeting deadlines and maintaining careful attention to detail. Requirements - Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.

- Excellent attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining accurate financial records.

- Clear and effective communication skills for interacting with vendors, customers, and internal team members.

- Experience with accounts payable processes, including invoice coding, payment processing, and transaction entry.

- Familiarity with check runs, ACH payments, daily cash receipts, and related banking activities.

- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment with a high volume of invoices and transactions.

- An accounting degree or related educational background is preferred.

- One to two years of relevant experience is preferred; experience in the construction industry is a plus.
