Location: City of Albany
The Internal Auditor 1 conducts internal control activities for the New York Office for People with Developmental Disabilities, including compliance studies, risk assessments, and evaluations of agency operations. The position works within the Bureau of Internal Controls under the Office of Audit Services and is responsible for designing audit work papers, conducting analyses, interviewing staff, and presenting findings to management. This is a full-time permanent role based in Albany, New York.
Keyqualifications
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, auditing, business administration, finance, or related field
- Two years of professional experience in conducting internal audits, financial statement audits, compliance reviews, or program research and appraisal
- Ability to conduct analysis using computer-assisted audit techniques
- Strong communication skills for interviewing personnel and presenting findings to management
- Experience with risk assessment and internal control evaluation
