Times Union Media Group is inviting applications for a reporter to cover the Albany County beat. This award‑winning daily news organization based in New York’s Capital Region seeks an enterprising, digitally savvy and endlessly curious news reporter who can juggle competing priorities across municipal governments, court cases, law enforcement, local communities and personalities.

• Bring energy and enthusiasm to looking beyond the surface to break news and tell impactful stories.
• Produce daily and long‑term enterprise content – including features and data‑driven investigative pieces – for use across multiple platforms with a digital‑first mindset.
• Create photos, videos, social media posts as essential elements of multi‑dimensional storytelling.
• Work collaboratively and collegially with reporters, photographers, editors and producers.

• Minimum of three years working as a daily news reporter.
• Bachelor’s degree in journalism, English, history, political science or equivalent experience preferred.
• Strong, clear, accurate writing ability that demonstrates attention to detail and grammar.
• Strong news judgment.
• Ability to confront officials, handle difficult conversations and hold people accountable.
• Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.

The salary range is $55 K‑$65 K. The starting salary will be based on various factors, including skills, experience, training, certifications, and education.
