Ophthalmologist Opportunity – Outpatient + Surgical Practice in the Scenic Hudson Valley

Location: Hudson Valley Region, Upstate New York

A highly respected 192-bed community hospital with over 35 outpatient care centers is seeking a skilled and compassionate Ophthalmologist to join their dedicated medical staff in the picturesque Hudson Valley region
, just two hours north of New York City and 30 minutes south of Albany. This full-time opportunity offers the perfect balance of outpatient care and surgical volume in a patient-first environment that prioritizes safety, quality, and compassion.

• Perform comprehensive ophthalmologic evaluations and manage a broad range of eye conditions
• Conduct surgical procedures including cataract extraction (phacoemulsification), eyelid surgery, laser treatments, and other anterior segment surgeries
• Collaborate with optometrists, PCPs, and specialists to ensure coordinated, high-quality care
• Use advanced diagnostics including OCT, fundus photography, slit-lamp exams, and visual fields
• Provide both routine and urgent ophthalmologic care
• Participate in community health initiatives and quality improvement projects
• Opportunity to mentor staff and contribute to a team-oriented culture

• MD or DO from an accredited program
• Completion of an ACGME-accredited Ophthalmology residency
• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Ophthalmology
• Eligible for NY state licensure and hospital credentialing
• Proficiency in cataract surgery and anterior segment procedures preferred
• Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset
• Prior rural or community health experience a plus
