Dentist - Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeon

Summary

This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP) - a student loan payment reimbursement program. You must meet specific eligibility requirements per VHA policy and submit your EDRP application within four months of appointment. Program Approval - award amount (up to $200
-000) & eligibility period (one to five years) are determined by the VHA Education Loan Repayment Services program office after review of the EDRP application. Former EDRP participants ineligible to apply.

• Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeon:
  Should be proficient and have the expertise and competency to perform the following procedures:
  Diagnose pathological or irregular oral conditions Administer local anesthesia Administer moderate sedation Perform simple and complex dental extractions Place dental implants Treatment of begin tumors of maxillofacial region Surgical and non-surgical treatment of TMJ Knowledge of digital systems including implant surgical guide planning Bone grafting techniques Perform alveoloplasty and other pre-prosthetic surgery Complete clinical and radiographic examination to answer dental consults Repair of oral soft tissue lacerations Hard and soft tissue biopsy Extraction of impacted teeth Treatment of orofacial infections Develop and supervise oral surgery rotations for VA dental residents with the objective to improve the efficiency of operations and allowing each dental resident to have a fair opportunity for professional advancement

• Pay:
