Math Tutor Middle & High School Focus

Mathnasium of Westmere, locally operated by Capital Region Math, is hiring part-time Math Instructors who enjoy math and working with teens. You'll support middle and high school students in building confidence and skills, from pre-algebra through precalculus.

At Mathnasium, we don't just help students get the right answers-we help them understand why. You'll guide students through customized learning plans, offer encouragement, and create an environment where they feel successful in math.

Our Westmere center is located in a convenient shopping plaza on Western Avenue with easy access from Albany, Guilderland, and surrounding communities.

• Work with grades 6-12 students on middle school math through pre-algebra, algebra, geometry, and precalculus
• Use the Mathnasium Method to guide students through personalized learning materials (we provide all training and materials)
• Help students stay focused, ask questions, and build confidence
• Work with 1-3 students in an engaging, in-person center environment
• Track progress and celebrate student wins-big and small

• Strong understanding of math through at least Algebra II; higher-level math is a plus
• Friendly, patient, and able to build rapport with teens
• Able to explain math concepts clearly and encourage students along the way
• Comfortable following a structured teaching method (training provided)
• Available to work at least two consistent shifts per week
• Must be able to work in person during our center hours

Part-time:
Minimum 2 days per week. Mon-Thurs: 4:00-8:00 p.m., Sat: 10:00 a.m.

-2:00 p.m.
