Location:
This is an on‑site role at our Baton Rouge, LA site location. The position may be opened at any location in the United States; however, proximity to a Jacobs U.S.–based office is preferred.

ResponsibilitiesThe wireless telecommunication project lead will work on various projects as assigned by a Manager or Lead Engineer and play a role in the entire design process including but not limited to:
- Preliminary assessments
- Concept creation
- Leading designs with support from peers, SMEs, and BIM designers
- Internal and external problem resolution
- Drawing and specification production
- Customer and vendor accessibility
In addition, responsibilities include:
- Designing wireless systems in iBwave and EDX
- Coordinating with BIM designers to create drawing packages
- Coordinating with AHJs, radio system owners, and carriers
- DIV 27 specification creation or modification
- Conducting site visits
- Reviewing technical documents
- Managing relationships with internal and external stakeholders
- Technical or associate’s degree from an accredited institution
- Minimum five years’ experience actively designing wireless telecommunications systems
- Experience with LMR 2‑way radio, including outdoor LMR, site radio, and RoIP systems
- Experience with Public Safety DAS systems
- Experience with Commercial DAS systems, including OTA DAS, neutral host DAS, and DRAN DAS
- Minimum five years’ experience with iBwave, EDX, Atoll, LMR Planner, or a combination of these modeling programs
- Experience working with clients to identify their wireless communications needs
- Experience troubleshooting wireless communication system issues from field teams
- Knowledge of noise floor, SNIR, return loss, and VSWR
- Experience optimizing networks during design and installation
- Thorough knowledge of NFPA 72, NFPA 1221, and NFPA 1225
- Thorough knowledge of IFC section 510
- Thorough knowledge of carrier KPIs
- Knowledge of IBC
- Knowledge of FCC parts 20, 90, and OET bulletin 65
- Knowledge of MOTOTRBO systems
- Knowledge of Motorola R56 installation standards
- Knowledge of DMR Tier III
- Familiarity with Navisworks
- Self‑motivation to coordinate with other disciplines, project managers, and clients
- Excellent project management skills
- Familiarity with responding to RFPs
- Experience creating project budgets
- Experience creating and maintaining a project schedule
- Experience identifying and mitigating company risk
- iBwave Level 2 certification (required)
- Experience designing Wi‑Fi systems
- EDX or Motorola design certifications
- FCC GROL certification
- NICET design certification
- Multiple OEM product certifications
- Electrical engineering or communications engineering degree
- EIT or PE
