Location: City of Albany
The Manufacturing Engineering Specialist provides technical guidance and support to correctional facility industrial staff within Corcraft, the New York State Department of Corrections and Community Supervision Industries Program. The role involves assisting with new product development, reviewing bills of materials, serving as a technical liaison for raw material sourcing, and analyzing manufacturing processes including workflow and equipment layout. The specialist works as part of the Central Office team to ensure efficient, high-quality production across 26 correctional facilities.
Keyqualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in industrial engineering, mechanical engineering, or manufacturing engineering
- Three years of post-degree engineering experience in assembly line development and manufacturing
- Knowledge of LEAN and Six Sigma methodology
- Familiarity with manufacturing processes including tool fixture design, welding, machining, assembly, metal fabrications, and plastic injection molding
