Location: City of Albany
The Program Research Specialist 2 (Health Care Finance) oversees financial reporting and compliance for managed care plans within the Department of Health's Office of Health Insurance Programs. The role monitors the financial condition and solvency of managed care plans, reviews equity transfers, and communicates findings to ensure compliance with state regulations and policies. This is a full-time position based in Albany with telecommuting allowed.
- Bachelor's degree with 9+ semester credit hours in statistics, biostatistics, economics, research methods, mathematics, or data analysis
- 3+ years of professional research experience in healthcare reimbursement, health economics, healthcare financing, or cost containment
- Critical thinking and analytical skills with ability to solve problems independently
- Professional experience or education in healthcare and trend analyses
- Current NY State employee eligibility or NY HELPS program candidacy
