Tax Preparer

Our client is a public accounting firm. They seek a Tax Preparer to join their Manhattan, NY office.

Responsibilities Complete and examine federal, state, and local income tax returns for UHNW individuals (Form 1040) and related entities, including partnerships (Form 1065) and S-corporations (Form 1120-S)
Focus on drafting complex fiduciary income tax returns (Form 1041) for grantor, complex, and charitable trusts and estates

Compile federal and state gift tax returns (Form 709) and contribute to the preparation of estate tax returns (Form 706)
Administer compliance for foreign accounts and assets, including FBAR (FinCEN Form 114) and FATCA (Form 8938) reporting

Evaluate intricate financial records, including investment statements, K-1s, and real estate transactions, to ensure accurate tax treatment

Act as the primary client contact, delivering timely, clear, and professional communication

Coordinate with external advisors such as attorneys and investment managers to implement integrated tax strategies

Resolve client tax matters with authorities, including responses to notices and audit support

Investigate complex trust, gift, and estate tax issues through technical research and analysis

Identify proactive planning opportunities, including charitable giving, wealth transfer, and tax-efficient investment strategies while staying current on evolving tax law Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field4+ years of experience preparing taxes for UHNW individuals

Experience with trust, gift, and estate tax return preparation and compliance

Excellent communication skills
