Controller, Finance & Banking, Financial Reporting

Our client is a private single-family office and investment firm. They seek a Controller to join their Manhattan, NY office.

Responsibilities Direct day-to-day accounting activities, including general ledger oversight and financial reporting across multiple entities

Compile and present consolidated and individual financial statements for family members and associated trusts

Administer treasury activities such as cash flow projections, liquidity management, and banking relationships

Record and monitor capital activity, including contributions, distributions, and valuation updates across private investments and real assets

Synthesize investment data into performance summaries and contribute to ongoing investment analysis

Coordinate with external accounting providers to support the timely preparation and submission of required tax filings

Review and maintain tax documentation, including work papers and K-1 reporting accuracy

Contribute to tax planning efforts and ensure compliance across all entities

Stay aligned with evolving tax and accounting standards in collaboration with external advisors and internal stakeholders

Engage with compliance specialists to uphold regulatory filing standards and best practices

Maintain estate and succession planning documentation in coordination with legal counsel

Collaborate with investment managers, attorneys, accountants, and philanthropic advisors to support integrated financial and operational decision-making

Requirements8+ years of relevant experience

Family office experience required

Tax exposure/knowledge required (K-1’s, compliance)
Highly organized and collaborative

Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Detail-oriented and highly-analyticalCPA required
