Duties Description Under the direction of the Disaster Preparedness Program Representative 3, the Disaster Preparedness Program Representative 2 is responsible for assisting in the maintenance and readiness of the State Emergency Operations Center (SEOC) and alternate locations for no-notice and planned activations during emergencies and disasters. They incumbent is also responsible for the development and maintenance schedules for technology hardware and software, ensuring job aids and checklists are up-to-date, and working with state and local emergency management partners to ensure a comprehensive understanding of roles and responsibilities during activations of the SEOC.
Duties include, but are not limited to the following:
* Facilitate approved emergency resource requests to include determining
resource requirements, mobilization and logistical considerations, resource transportation, tracking, and demobilization during activations of the State Emergency Operations Center.
* Develop and update SEOC job aids, position checklists, and flow charts. Update technology equipment (laptops, computers, phones, etc.) and software on a regular basis and ensure office/ancillary supplies are inventoried and resupplied to maintain the SEOC and alternate locations in a constant state of readiness.
* Provide administrative support to NY Responds (incident management software) to include access, system upgrade and patches, identifying training needs, and developing process and guidance on how the system is implemented and utilized.
* Maintain proficiency in, conduct regular tests of, and schedule maintenance for multiple types of technology and equipment.
* Participate in working groups with multi-disciplined and multi-jurisdictional partners on topics to include, but not limited to ESF 5 (planning), ESF 7 (logistics), ice jams, lake flooding, mass gatherings, etc.
* Gather and analyze information to produce briefings or reports to inform timely and effective incident response decisions.
* Coordinate logistics for presentations in the facility and all requests for meeting/conference room space.
* Perform all administrative supervisory duties as required.
* Perform other duties and special projects as required.
