Travel RN – Progressive Critical Care (PCU) – Albany, NY

Start Date: 12/22
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Shift: 12-hour Days
Shift Times: 7:00 AM – 7:30 PM
Weekends: Every other
Holidays: Rotating
Charting System: EPIC (experience required)

The Progressive Critical Care Unit cares for high-acuity medical and surgical patients with complex needs. This unit manages some of the most medically fragile and surgically challenging cases in the region.

• Respiratory failure

• Sepsis

• Closed head injuries

• Endocrine disorders

• Multi-system organ dysfunction

• Complex traumas

• Surgical complications

• High-acuity medical/surgical DRGs

RN must be competent in:

• Medical & surgical progressive care nursing

• ACLS

• Advanced hemodynamics, including pressor usage per titration protocols

• Antihypertensive drips

• Sedation and Narcan drips

• Thrombo-embolytics

• A-line & CVP management

• EVD management

• Ortho traction

• Infection-prevention protocols

• HFNC, BiPAP/CPAP, Oxypendent oxygenation modalities

Average Patient Load: 3 high-acuity patients

Nurses with large-scale adult PCU or community hospital ICU experience perform well on this unit.

• Active RN license

• ACLS – Required

• Minimum 2 years PCU/Stepdown or ICU experience

• EPIC experience – Required

• Strong competency in advanced hemodynamic and high-acuity care
