Job Description:
The Medical Imaging Technologist, under the supervision of the Medical Director, Section Head, Manager, and Radiologist, performs advanced technical procedures essential to patient diagnosis and care. This role involves operating MRI equipment to produce high-quality diagnostic images while ensuring patient safety and comfort. The technologist is responsible for adhering to radiation safety standards in accordance with New York State Department of Health Code Part 16, particularly when working with radiation-producing modalities.

They actively support ongoing education and professional development to stay current with evolving imaging technologies. The role also includes assisting in clinical evaluations and supporting patient care, emphasizing a positive and safe patient experience.

Key Responsibilities Include:

• Performing MRI scans with precision and adherence to protocols.
• Ensuring all safety procedures, including radiation safety standards, are strictly followed.
• Maintaining competence in imaging modalities and ensuring equipment calibration and quality control.
• Providing compassionate patient care tailored to individual needs and age groups.
• Supporting teaching colleagues and participating in professional development opportunities.

• Excellent technical skills with the ability to operate MRI equipment effectively.
• Strong understanding of radiation safety protocols and compliance with state and hospital standards.

Preferred Education & Experience:

• Associate Degree in Applied Science – required
• Diploma in X-Ray – required
• Graduation from an approved professional academic imaging program – required
• Prior experience in MRI or other imaging modalities – helpful and preferred

Certifications and Licenses:

• ARRT Certified Radiologic Technologist – required upon hire
• New York State registration or limited permit to practice in New York – required upon hire
• American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification – required upon hire

Compensation:

• Total Weekly Stipend: $1,421.00
• Weekly Taxable Pay: $2,266.04
