Selected candidates are expected to work in Albany office 2-3 days per week

• Implementing Integrated Justice Portal standards related to database development
• Utilize use cases, business requirements documents, and flow diagrams to design complex relational databases
• Follow all phases of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) - analysis, design, testing, implementation, maintenance
• Follow and contribute to agency standards and utilize industry best practices
• Develop queries and stored procedures for data extraction, using SQL against databases; write complex efficient SQL
• Perform ongoing support for production applications – including system monitoring, processing, user support, and performance tuning
• Create, maintain, and deploy batch processes to support Gun Safety business processes
• Research emerging technologies to improve current processes
• Create data dictionaries and business glossaries

Makes high-level design choices and dictates technical standards, including software coding standards, tools, and platforms. Designs multi-leveled architecture or component interactions of a large-scale software system.

• 84+ Months:
  Candidate is able to provide guidance to large teams and/or has extensive industry experience and is considered at the top of his/her field.
• 84 months experience creating Views, Triggers, stored procedures, functions, and writing SQL in Oracle (12c or higher)
• 84 months of experience using a data modeling tools such as ERWIN to create physical and logical data models, reverse engineer existing databases, and compare existing databases in Oracle (12c or higher)
• 84 months of experience developing complex ETL processes using shell scripts (Korn, Bash, and Power Shell), SQL scripts, and PL/SQL.
• 84 months of experience performing data analysis and creating reports for customers
• 84 months of experience optimizing SQL queries and debugging PL/SQL objects (packages, functions, and procedures)
• 60 months of experience developing Korn shell and bash shell scripts in a Linux environment
