The New York State Office of Information Technology Services (ITS) provides operational support 24/7 for more than 4,900 applications across 53 state agencies. Working under the Information Technology Specialist 4 (SG‑25) for the Digital Experience Bureau in the Communication Experience (ComX) section, the Technology Analyst 1 Cloud Solutions will program advanced voice and chat bots in cloud environments and collaborate with ITS units, vendors, and project staff to implement new contact‑center technologies.

• Learn and implement new cloud‑based technologies and support vendor‑built solutions.
• Interface with customers, agency partner staff, and internal staff in a professional manner.
• Accept change consistently and adapt to new technologies and methods.
• Participate in requirements gathering and help design technology architecture solutions.
• Program and develop in multiple environments and products, handling advanced integrations; preferred languages include JavaScript, NodeJS, and .NET.
• Build advanced chatbots and phone bots integrating with CRM, SMS, chat platforms, email, and NY State processing systems.
• Apply REST web service experience, architecture design, security review, GIT, AWS, Amazon Connect, Google, and GCP.
• Develop with React and front‑end technologies; deploy web applications.
• Troubleshoot development bugs and coordinate fixes with vendors.
• Assist with emergency issue troubleshooting, including after‑hours or weekend incidents.
• Attend and participate in meetings with internal staff, vendors, and agency customers.
• Adhere to all training and administrative requirements.
• Generate fresh ideas to expand current technology solutions.

• Five (5) years of information technology experience, including one (1) year in cloud solutions.

• Associate’s degree with 15 semester credit hours in computer science or a related field substitutes for one year of general IT experience.
• Bachelor’s degree program with at least 15 semester credit hours in computer science or a related field substitutes for one year of general IT experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in any field with fifteen (15) semester credit hours in computer science or a related field substitutes for three years of general IT experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in any field substitutes for two (2) years of general IT experience.
• Master’s degree or higher in computer science or a related field substitutes for one year of general IT experience.

• Relevant cloud analyst certification (e.g., AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Google Professional Cloud Architect, Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert).
• Comprehensive understanding of cloud services—including storage, networking, and databases—to analyze and manage an organization’s cloud computing strategy.
• Strong problem‑solving skills for troubleshooting and resolving cloud‑environment issues.
• Exceptional analytical skills for evaluating cloud application requirements and recommending improvements.
• Excellent communication skills to explain complex cloud topics to IT and non‑IT staff.
• Proficiency in AWS, Google Cloud, or Microsoft Azure.
• Experience in data analysis and interpretation from cloud platforms.
• Strong understanding of IT infrastructure, network structures, and data security protocols in a cloud context.
• Familiarity with Python, Java, or Ruby.
• Collaborative mindset for designing and implementing effective cloud strategies and ensuring seamless integration with existing systems.
