Base Pay Range$80,000.00/yr – $/yr
Dev Ops Engineer – Garnet RiverWe are currently seeking a Dev Ops Engineer to join our client’s IT department team in Albany, NY. This team is responsible for developing and maintaining custom applications to support all functions of the organization. The client’s Information Technology department develops and maintains custom applications to support legislative drafting, bill tracking, and public access systems.
Job Duties- Install, configure, and manage the on-premises deployment of the LWB 360 platform and related applications.
- Manage Docker-containerized services, including Python-based document and asynchronous worker services and their dependencies.
- Manage web server/reverse-proxy infrastructure for load-balancing requests to hosting services.
- Configure and maintain orchestration tools (e.g., Kubernetes or Docker Swarm) for container management.
- Leverage infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform and best practices.
- Implement and maintain a containerized on-premises infrastructure capable of supporting horizontal scaling.
- Optimize resource allocation for compute, storage, and networking to meet performance requirements.
- Implement backup, disaster recovery, and fail-over mechanisms for critical services.
- Maintain automated pipelines to streamline deployment of LWB 360 updates.
- Implement monitoring solutions (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana) to track system health, container performance, and application metrics.
- Aggregate system logs and metrics to identify and resolve bottlenecks and issues.
- Configure firewalls, SSL/TLS certificates, and secure access policies to ensure system security.
- Implement fine-grained role-based access control (RBAC) for users and services.
- Monitor and enforce compliance with organizational and regulatory security requirements.
- Collaborate with LWB 360 development teams to troubleshoot application-stack issues.
- Create documentation and provide training for IT staff to support ongoing system operations.
- Experience managing on-premises deployments, including networking, storage, and server configurations.
- Experience managing Red Hat Open Shift.
- Knowledge of AWS environments, Docker, Kubernetes, Postgre
SQL, Elasticsearch, and Terraform or similar technologies. - Strong understanding of security best practices and CI/CD pipelines.
- Experience with Linux system administration, OpenID Connect, Keycloak, LDAP, Python, C++, and web development preferred.
$80,000 – $110,000
