Business Systems Analyst 2 – Albany (NY HELPS)

Pay Range (Authorized)

Base pay range: $86,681.00/yr – $/yr

Responsibilities
  • Translate requirements into system documentation and test criteria.
  • Conduct gap analysis, workflow reviews, impact assessments, and feasibility evaluations for CRM projects.
  • Facilitate meetings and workshops with stakeholders across program areas.
  • Perform and coordinate system and user acceptance testing.
  • Review BSA 1 work products and provide mentoring and guidance.
  • Take a lead role in the configuration of Salesforce objects, page layouts, flows, permissions, reports, and dashboards.
  • Create applications within Salesforce.
  • Document system changes, impacts, and dependencies across Salesforce components.
  • Conduct functional troubleshooting and recommend solutions.
  • Ensure compliance with agency standards for security, accessibility, and usability.
  • Act as a functional lead on small to medium projects.
  • Prioritize assignments and guide BSA 1 work efforts.
  • Provide Level 2 support for Salesforce issues.
  • Prepare documentation such as test scripts, training materials, release notes, and process guides.
  • Communicate risks, timelines, and system impacts to project managers and program leadership.
Minimum Qualifications – NY HELPS Non‑Competitive
  • Seven years of business analysis experience, including requirement elicitation, documentation across the SDLC, testing, and stakeholder communication.
  • Experience initiating process improvements and automation.
  • Ability to validate requirements, develop test plans, and identify constraints and risks.
  • Indicates ability to act as liaison between stakeholders and end users, engaging in post‑implementation review.

Education substitutions: Associate degree replaces 2 years of experience; bachelor’s replaces 4 years; master’s replaces 5 years; doctorate replaces 6 years.

Minimum Qualifications

Preferred Qualifications
  • 1–2 years of hands‑on Salesforce configuration experience.
  • Understanding of Salesforce data models, automation, security roles, and integration concepts.
  • Basic SQL/SOQL experience.
  • Experience supervising or mentoring junior analysts.
  • Experience in Agile/Scrum environments.
  • Experience with version control systems.
  • Experience supporting data mapping or migration activities.
  • Ability to initiate and maintain relationships across stakeholders.
Additional Comments

Candidates with no previous state service will begin at the starting rate of the salary range listed above. Telecommuting is available (up to 40%) and can be discussed during the interview.
