About This Role

The primary role of the RBG Technology Director is to drive the strategic vision and tactical implementation of technology solutions within the Resources Business Group (RBG). You will collaborate closely with RBG leadership, the Corporate Technology team, and other HDR stakeholders to identify, evaluate, and implement technology initiatives that optimize project execution and foster innovation. Success will include developing delivery approaches, shaping the strategic plan for the next three to five years, and positioning HDR as a market differentiator.

Responsibilities
  • Facilitate the development of a RBG technology vision and roadmap that identifies, develops, and monitors strategies for technology investments.
  • Advance and implement technology related to digital delivery, data management, optimization, automation, and visualization.
  • Collaborate with external vendors and internal business and corporate technology programs to align and advance RBG initiatives for data analytics and artificial intelligence.
  • Develop and implement standardized approaches and best practices to increase efficiency and quality of technology-related work.
  • Identify programmatic hardware and software needs and work with corporate technology to implement solutions.
  • Develop technology guidelines, policies, and RBG software validation and maintenance procedures.
  • Foster technology talent collaboration and skills development through practice and professional discipline groups.
  • Participate on project teams for larger programs and pursuits.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience evaluating technology, and software development and deployment.
  • Understanding of a broad range of technologies applied within the power, waste, and/or industrial sectors.
  • Experience in numerical modeling, digital production, data sciences, and artificial intelligence.
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience with at least 5 projects or leading project teams in Architecture, Engineering, or Construction.
Required Qualifications
  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in a related field.
  • Minimum of a bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, information technology, information science, systems administration, or a similar field.
  • Demonstrated ability to formulate and execute applied technology strategies and foster change within an organization.
  • Experience in data architecture, data management, and knowledge of industry standards.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively with diverse teams.
  • Experience managing diverse teams.
  • Ability to work cooperatively with business class directors, operations managers, technical directors, and marketing managers.
  • Commitment to quality, improvement, and HDR values.
  • Active participation in HDR’s employee‑owned culture is required.
