This position will be in support of the NYS Tax Modernization Program. This program will encompass multiple projects to modernize legacy systems within the NYS Department of Taxation and Finance, which is responsible for billions in state revenue. The targeted project for this position is the Real Property System (RPS) Modernization project.

• Guide with the technical design for the conversion of the RPSv4 Sybase ASA databases to the state-wide, enterprise level database data tier within a multi-tenant infrastructure.
• Develop a conversion plan for the project.
• Coordinate the technical solutions among various technical support groups.
• Write and tune SQL.
• Implement technical solutions.
• Develop system components in support of conversion.
• Support production tasks, including analysis of issues, proposing and implementing solutions for defect resolution.
• Coordinate with the development team on development activities and integration testing.
• Coordinate with the ORPTS Business team members and the assessing unit contacts to receive current data and identify and resolve data anomalies.
• Support user testing efforts.
• Tune performance.
• Mentor less experienced staff.

• Experience:
  
  12+ Years.
• Make high-level design choices and dictate technical standards, including software coding standards, tools, and platforms. Design multi-leveled architecture or component interactions of a large scale software system.

• 100% Onsite.
• 72 months of experience with J2EE technologies including JDBC, JSP and XML.
• 72 months of experience developing, building, and testing Java EE applications using modern IDEs, such as Eclipse, Net Beans, or Intelli

• 72 months of experience using J2EE frameworks such as Spring or Struts and application servers such as Tomcat, JBoss, Web Sphere or Web Logic.
• 72 months of experience writing SQL statements for relational databases.
• 48 months of experience in messaging technologies, such as MQ, JMS, Kafka.
• 72 months of experience in system analysis and design of multi-tiered transactional systems.
• 36 months of experience programming multi-tier Cold Fusion web applications using Dreamweaver or CF Builder IDE and deployed in a CF9 or greater UNIX environment with Sybase RDMS.
