The Chief Management Analyst reports directly to the Director of the Division of Professional and Court Services and is responsible for overseeing the Office of Trial Court Support. This office plays a critical role in supporting the effective day-to-day operations of New York State’s trial courts by providing operational expertise, guidance, and problem-solving assistance to court administrators, managers, and staff statewide.
Dutiesand Responsibilities
- Supervising professional and support staff and managing workflow related to help desk tickets, emails, and telephone inquiries from court staff
- Providing guidance and operational support to trial courts to ensure consistency, efficiency, and compliance with applicable statutes, rules, and policies
- Collaborating with courts and Unified Court System offices to implement new legislation and to refine, standardize, and improve court procedures, as appropriate
- Developing, coordinating, and delivering local, regional, and statewide training programs for court personnel
- Defining operational requirements and business needs for court-related technical systems
- Creating, reviewing, and maintaining instructional materials, operations manuals, and court forms
- Participating in committees, task forces, and work groups that support and enhance trial court operations
- Working closely with OCA Divisions and the OCA Counsel’s Office on matters impacting trial court administration
Expertise in trial court operations is required. Experience in the Chief Clerk or Court Clerk series as a court manager or supervisor is strongly preferred.
Statewide travel is required in accordance with Unified Court System travel policies and restrictions.
Qualifications- One year in the Principal Management Analyst title; or
- Master's degree in Public or Business Administration from an accredited college or university and five (5) years of relevant experience; or
- An equivalent combination of education and experience.
