The Nurse Educator may provide direct patient care, patient triage (in-person and telephonic), assessment, planning, directing, and evaluating a patient’s specific care plan and clinic visit. The Nurse Educator collaborates with other members of the OB/GYN Departmental Care Team to implement, track, and develop staff training and development. The Nurse Educator independently implements planned educational activities in accordance with departmental priorities and targeted for orientation, in-service, governing body requirements, and continuing education.

The Nurse Educator acts as a clinical lead to onsite nursing staff in the absence of an onsite Nurse Supervisor or Nurse Manager.

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (or currently enrolled in BSN program)

• Licensed Registered Professional Nurse
• Maintains current BLS certification and seeks BLS Instructor Certification within one year of hire.

• Demonstrated clinical competency in OB/GYN nursing.
• Previous experience in educational program development and teaching preferred.

• Regularly required to stand, walk, use hands for handling objects, reach with arms, speak, and hear. Occasionally required to sit, stoop, kneel, or crouch. Must be able to lift/move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities include close, distance, peripheral, depth perception, and focus adjustment.
• May be exposed to infectious materials and chemicals (see MSDS). The environment is usually moderate noise level. This role requires physical presence onsite as work cannot be performed remotely.
