American Traveler is hiring a Med-Surg General Surgery/Trauma RN for a day shift travel position at a 600+ bed academic hospital, requiring 2 years of recent specialty experience and Epic proficiency.

• Med-Surg General Surgery/Trauma unit in an academic hospital setting
• Day shift schedule, 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM
• Every other weekend required
• Rotating holiday coverage required
• Uses Epic EMR

• Active NY RN license required
• BLS certification from AHA or RQI required
• 2 years of recent experience required in Med-Surg specialty
• 1 year of experience required at a 600+ bed academic hospital with a passing competency testing score, if less than 2 years total experience
• Epic EMR experience required
• Competency testing required within 24 hours of consideration for candidates with less than 2 years of experience
• No gaps in work history exceeding 90 days within the past 12 months
• US Social Security Number required;
  Canadian SIN not accepted
• Minimum of 1 reference within the past year from a supervisor or manager (charge nurse references not accepted)

• Provide direct patient care to general surgery and trauma patients in a Med-Surg unit
• Navy blue scrubs required
• Facility only accepts medical exemptions for flu vaccination, signed by a licensed professional; personal or religious declinations are not accepted
• No blocked scheduling allowed
• More than 3 call-outs within a 13-week assignment may result in contract termination, with make-up shifts required within 6 weeks
• RTO must be requested at time of consideration
• Local candidates are not accepted if residing in Albany, Columbia, Dutchess, Fulton, Greene, Montgomery, Rensselaer, Saratoga, Schenectady, Ulster, Warren, or Washington counties
