American Traveler is hiring a Med-Surg General Surgery/Trauma RN for a night shift position requiring 2 years of specialty experience and Epic EMR proficiency at a large academic medical center.

• Work in the General Surgery/Trauma unit of a 600+ bed academic hospital
• Night shift schedule from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM
• Every other weekend required
• Rotating holiday coverage required
• Uses Epic EMR

• Active NY RN license required at time of consideration
• BLS certification from AHA or RQI required
• 2 years of recent experience required in Med-Surg General Surgery/Trauma specialty
• Epic EMR experience required
• No gaps in work history of 90 days or more within the past 12 months
• Minimum 1 reference from a supervisor or manager (not a charge nurse) dated within the past year
• US Social Security Number required;
  Canadian SIN not accepted
• Medical exemption signed by a licensed professional required for flu vaccine declination (personal or religious exemptions not accepted)

• Provide nursing care to general surgery and trauma patients in a fast-paced academic hospital setting
• Navy blue scrubs required
• No blocked scheduling permitted
• More than 3 call-outs within a 13-week period may result in contract termination, with make-up shifts required within 6 weeks
• RTO must be requested at time of consideration
• Local candidates are not accepted if residing within Albany, Columbia, Dutchess, Fulton, Greene, Montgomery, Rensselaer, Saratoga, Schenectady, Ulster, Warren, or Washington counties
