American Traveler is hiring an RN for a Med-Surg Float Pool day shift position requiring Epic experience and 2 years of recent specialty experience at an academic medical center.

• Med-Surg Float Pool at a 600+ bed academic hospital
• Day shift schedule, 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM
• Every other weekend required
• Rotating holiday coverage
• Required to float to other units
• Epic EMR experience required

• Active NY RN license required at time of consideration
• BLS and ACLS certifications from AHA or RQI required
• 2 years of recent experience required in Med-Surg, or 1 year of experience at a 600+ bed academic hospital with a passing competency test score
• Competency testing required within 24 hours for candidates with less than 2 years of experience
• Epic EMR experience required
• Minimum of 1 reference from a supervisor or manager (not a charge nurse) dated within the past year
• No gaps in work history of 90+ days within the past 12 months
• US Social Security Number required
• Medical exemption (signed by a licensed professional) required for flu vaccine exemption; personal or religious declinations not accepted

• Navy blue scrubs required
• Provide nursing care across multiple Med-Surg units as part of the float pool team
• No blocked scheduling permitted
• More than 3 call-outs within a 13-week period may result in contract termination, with make-up shifts required within 6 weeks
• RTO must be requested at time of submission
• Local candidates residing within a 50-mile radius in Albany, Columbia, Dutchess, Fulton, Greene, Montgomery, Rensselaer, Saratoga, Schenectady, Ulster, Warren, or Washington counties are not eligible for this position
