Location: City of Albany
This Program Research Specialist 2 position in the Department of Health's Bureau of Medicaid Long Term Care Policy supports research, policy writing, and data analytics related to Medicaid long-term care initiatives including NYIAP and CDPAP. The role involves supervising staff, developing subject matter expertise in local social services operations, conducting independent policy analysis, and serving as a liaison between the bureau and internal and external stakeholders.
Based in Albany, the position requires travel throughout New York State to local departments for program review and monitoring.
- Current NYS Department of Health employee with permanent or contingent permanent status as Program Research Specialist 2 (Medical Assistance), or NYS employee with one year of permanent service at Gra
- Bachelor's degree with nine semester credit hours in statistics, biostatistics, economics, research methods, mathematics, or data analysis, plus three years of professional research experience with qu
- Experience working in Medicaid and long-term community care populations
- Experience reviewing and writing policy documents and using research and data analysis to inform policy at state or federal level
- Strong written and oral communication skills
