Location: City of Albany
The Assistant Research Scientist supports the Wadsworth Center's Cannabis Reference Laboratory, which serves the Office of Cannabis Management. The role involves researching and analyzing cannabis samples for contaminants, filth, foreign material, water activity, and moisture content, while developing and validating new analytical methods and communicating results.
Key qualifications:- Bachelor's degree or higher in Natural Sciences and one year post-degree professional research experience
- Experience with stereoscopic specimen microscopy and physical chemistry analysis
- Knowledge of data processing, Microsoft Office, and quantitative analysis principles
- Proficiency working in regulated laboratory environments
- Ability to develop, validate, and implement analytical methods
