Job Summary

Proof and bake unfinished bakery goods by following each item’s product handling information using ovens and/or equipment. Unpack bakery goods from the freezer and display proper amounts based on bakery production chart recommendations, including safe handling and storage instructions. Maintain cleaning and safety standards within the bakery department.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities
  • Answer questions and recommend bakery items; take member calls and special orders.
  • Proof and bake unfinished bakery goods using oven and equipment following production charts.
  • Package fresh baked goods and manage freezer returns based on production charts.
  • Decorate special orders and case products.
  • Rotate and store bakery products to ensure freshness and compliance with safety policies.
  • Receive, inspect, and store bakery shipments; honor safety and freshness procedures.
  • Check for out‑of‑date products daily and follow salvage and stale product policies.
  • Generate labels and price tickets; perform price checks when needed.
  • Clean and sanitize equipment, display fixtures, and food surfaces including ovens, utensils, refrigerated cases.
  • Operate bakery equipment following safety work methods.
  • Maintain all club policies and procedures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned, including work in other departments.
  • Maintain regular, predictable, full attendance.
Qualifications
  • Experience in a bakery or customer‑service oriented environment preferred.
  • Knowledge of bakery products preferred.
  • At least 18 years of age.
Environmental Job Conditions
  • Work primarily on non‑hard surfaces; may need to bend, handle, pull, reach, push, or stoop.
  • Frequently lift up to 30 pounds; may lift heavier objects with assistance.
  • Work in an indoor environment with exposure to temperature extremes from freezers, ovens, and coolers.
  • May have exposure to cleaning agents.

In accordance with the Pay Transparency requirements, the following represents a good faith estimate of the compensation range for this position. Actual salaries vary by location, education, experience, and qualifications. The pay range for this position is $16.50 – $19.80 per hour.
