Position Summary
We are seeking a highly experienced Network Engineer to support enterprise‑level network operations for a large‑scale government environment in New York, NY. The ideal candidate will possess extensive expertise in enterprise firewalls, routing protocols, high availability configurations, VPN technologies, and network security solutions. This role requires strong hands‑on engineering capability, excellent documentation skills, and the ability to mentor junior staff while ensuring robust, secure, and efficient network performance.
RequiredExperience
- 84 months of experience in administration and engineering of enterprise firewalls.
- 84 months of experience implementing security solutions, including Threat Prevention, URL Filtering, and SSL Decryption.
- 84 months of experience working with firewall management systems.
- 84 months of experience in intrusion detection and intrusion prevention systems (IDS/IPS).
- 84 months of experience configuring routes and encrypted tunnels between remote locations.
- 84 months of experience developing and deploying BGP routing solutions.
- 84 months of experience with high availability (HA) network technologies and configurations.
- 84 months of experience creating detailed network documentation, including diagrams, change records, and operational procedures.
- 84 months of experience implementing and integrating Cisco LAN/WAN network solutions.
- 84 months of experience configuring and installing network devices/services including routers, switches, firewalls, and VPN components.
- 84 months of experience in hands‑on network engineering with strong understanding of LAN, WAN, TCP/IP, switching, and routing protocols.
- 84 months of experience mentoring or guiding technical staff.
- Fortinet NSE Certification (required).
- Design, implement, and maintain secure enterprise network infrastructure across multiple locations.
- Configure and manage firewalls, IDS/IPS, VPNs, and routing protocols including BGP.
- Develop secure and reliable network connectivity solutions for remote sites.
- Perform network monitoring, troubleshooting, and optimization across LAN/WAN environments.
- Implement security policies and threat mitigation strategies including SSL decryption and content filtering.
- Create comprehensive documentation such as network diagrams, change requests, and operational procedures.
- Collaborate with government teams to deploy network enhancements and maintain compliance.
- Provide mentorship and guidance to junior network engineers.
- Support high availability and disaster recovery configurations for mission‑critical systems.
- Fortinet NSE Certification (Required)
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Network Engineering, Information Technology, or related field (Preferred, not required)
Compensation: $58.72 per hour
