Position Overview
Experienced Carpenter with a strong background in residential and/or commercial carpentry. This position requires a commitment to high-quality craftsmanship and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision. This role is ideal for a seasoned professional seeking flexible hours and steady, meaningful work.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform carpentry duties including framing, trim work, cabinetry, flooring, window/door installation, and general wood construction.
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and project specifications.
- Measure, cut, shape, and assemble materials with precision.
- Inspect and repair existing structures and fixtures as needed.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment in compliance with company and industry safety standards.
- Communicate progress, challenges, and material needs to supervisors promptly.
- Ensure all work meets quality and code requirements.
- Work with general contractors
Qualifications
- 5+ years of professional carpentry experience (journeyman-level or equivalent).
- Strong understanding of carpentry techniques, tools, and materials.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
- Experience reading blueprints and construction plans.
- Physical ability to lift materials, operate tools, and work in various job-site conditions.
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation required.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to craftsmanship.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with finish carpentry or custom woodworking.
- Knowledge of building codes and permit processes.
- Ability to estimate time and materials for small projects.
- Basic skills in related trades (drywall, painting, minor electrical/plumbing) a plus.
Job Type: Part-time, 12-month, Non-exempt (hourly)
Working Environment & Physical Requirements
- Most of the work is done standing
- Routinely move about inside and outside the buildings
- Frequent interaction with others through speaking, listening, and typing
