We are hiring a permanent full‑time Experienced Mid‑Level Diesel Technician to support our truck fleet at Ryder in Albany, NY.

• Hourly pay: $33.28 per hour
• Certification bonus of $100 for each new ASE certification (up to $700)
• Quarterly bonus up to $500 per quarter (four times per year)
• Sign‑on bonus: $1250 at 30 days and $1250 at 90 days
• Tool box/tool allowance
• Schedule:
  
  Monday–Friday; weekends off
• Hours:
  
  Second shift, 3:00 pm – 11:30 pm

• High school diploma or equivalent (preferred)
• Vocational or technical certification, post‑secondary degree, or technical certifications (preferred)
• Basic tools, required
• Aptitude and applied experience in mechanical repair of automotive gas or diesel engines, including routine preventative maintenance such as oil changes, brake and tire work (required)
• Two years or more of classroom training and work experience in required experience (preferable)
• Valid commercial driver license (CDL) Class A (preferred)
• Must be able to obtain CDL within 6 months after hire
• Pass a Ryder drug test
• Pass a DOT physical
• Pass a Ryder road test
• Pass a Ryder background and motor‑vehicle check (including drug and alcohol verification from previous employers for the last 3 years)

• Perform vehicle maintenance and repair duties
• Perform standard vehicle maintenance (oil changes, brake and tire work, etc.)
• Perform standard component inspections and repairs
• Perform preventive maintenance and diagnose standard mechanical and electronic problems using diagnostic computers
• Identify root cause of basic failures and perform repairs as required
• Replace defective components as instructed
• Perform facility maintenance duties
• Interact with customers/drivers to determine the nature of complaints once assigned a task
• Utilize key functions of Shop Management System and electronic documentation
• Work in accordance with all federal/provincial and corporate compliance guidelines (safety, DOT, MOT)
• Perform other support duties as required to support operations (e.g., Service Island support)
