, where you'll lead recreational programs and create engaging, meaningful experiences for children and young adults with complex medical needs. In this role, you'll develop activities, coordinate community partnerships, and lead a team dedicated to enhancing residents' quality of life.

, St. Margaret's Center is a 94-bed pediatric and young adult skilled nursing facility providing specialized, around-the-clock care in a nurturing, home-like environment. Beyond meeting residents' medical needs, our team is committed to helping children and young adults enjoy the experiences that make childhood meaningful, including education, recreation, friendships, and community involvement.
- Meaningful Work:
Help children and young adults experience recreation, social connections, and activities that enhance their quality of life. - Program Leadership:
Take an active role in developing and managing recreational programs tailored to residents' interests and abilities. - Creative Opportunities:
Bring new ideas to life through special events, community partnerships, volunteer programs, and engaging daily activities. - Personalized Experiences:
Work in a smaller, specialized facility where you can build lasting relationships with residents and their families. - Collaborative Environment:
Partner with a multidisciplinary team committed to supporting each resident's individual needs and interests.
- Plan, develop, and oversee recreational and life enrichment programs that promote social engagement, personal interests, and overall quality of life.
- Lead, supervise, and support Resident Life Assistants and volunteers in delivering engaging, age-appropriate activities.
- Develop and coordinate daily activity schedules, group programs, special events, and individualized recreational experiences.
- Build relationships with community organizations and volunteers to expand programming, including pet therapy and other enrichment opportunities.
- Identify grant opportunities and collaborate with facility leadership to secure and manage funding for recreational programs.
- Ensure recreational programming meets applicable CMS and NYSDOH regulations and supports residents' individual needs.
- Bachelor's degree in Therapeutic Recreation or a related field required
- At least 3 years of related experience developing or providing recreational programs
- Knowledge of nursing home quality of life regulations
