We’re hiring to join one of our teams within the Platform Product Group, which aims to build a trusted, scalable, and compliant platform to maximize velocity, efficiency, and quality. The Platform Product Group builds foundations used by multiple products and teams at Coinbase to provide a consistent, high-quality user experience.

The Risk engineering team’s charter is to effectively manage financial threats to the business and Coinbase users. You will help build the platform and critical services to mitigate fraudulent activities at scale and improve detection of good user patterns.

• Design and implement next generation core Risk platform architecture that powers Coinbase
• Interact with stakeholders across organizations that build Coinbase products or handle financial operations
• Shape the strategy and execution path of the Risk platform
• Manage individual project priorities, deadlines, and deliverables with your technical expertise
• Mentor and train other team members on design techniques and coding standards
• Write high quality, well tested code to meet customer needs

• 12+ years of backend software engineering experience using Golang or similar languages
• Proven track record of delivering impactful solutions that power significant risk flows
• Experience designing, building, scaling, and maintaining high throughput, low latency production services
• Experience architecting and developing solutions to ambiguous problems with significant impact
• Strong knowledge of building distributed systems that process massive scale
• Solid communication skills with stakeholders across technical and non-technical backgrounds
• Relentless drive to set and achieve ambitious goals
• Passion for building an open financial system that brings the world together

• Domain expertise in Risk engineering
• Experience with Machine Learning models and scaling risk use cases
• Experience in both startups and large enterprises

Pay Transparency Notice:
Target annual salary is $246,500—$290,000 USD, plus target bonus, target equity, and benefits (medical, dental, vision, 401(k)).
